Public TransportFacilities will be provided as part of Phase 1 to accommodate public transport. There will be a drop-off point for bus passengers just to the south of the Hospital. The buses will then move on to the layover point on the north side of the college, where the boarding point will be. The bus stops will have raised kerbs and high quality bus shelters with seats and real time information displays. As well as providing facilities for local buses, attention has been given to the Healthplex and how the travel arrangements for visiting teams are met. Phase 1 proposes a coach drop-off zone outside the Healthplex and a coach layover zone to the north of the proposed Computershare development. Bus servicesThe original plan for the site identified the old services 20/21, the 51 and the 75 as possible services to extend. These remain good options, but Imperial Park and Hartcliffe Campus also have to be served, and Community Transport routes are changing to reflect the Symes Avenue development. There is a great deal to consider when evaluating which services to extend and if a new supported bus service might be appropriate. No final decision has been made and no commitment has been sought from or given by the operator First Bristol. A variety of bus routes may already be found in the area surrounding the proposed development.
