Public Art

A public art plan was submitted as part of the Infrastructure Planning Application. This plan set out proposals for developing a programme of temporary and permanent artworks within Phase 1 including integrating the site within the wider area, developing local peoples' creative skills, encouraging visitors and residents to use and enjoy the site; and marking the changing identity of Hengrove Park.

The plan also sets out the principle that Phase 1 developers will contribute funds towards the art programme within the public realm.

Part of the research for the art plan was undertaken by local visual artist Amy Feneck. A short film was created that worked to encourage participation in the consultation process from community members.

In addition, each developer within Phase 1 will be developing their own public art programme which will deliver artworks within their building and the area immediately surrounding their buildings.
