North Fringe to Hengrove transport package
26 November 2009

The North Fringe to Hengrove is a £168 million package of transport improvements that runs between North and South Bristol via the city centre. It is being developed by South Gloucestershire Council and Bristol City Council working together as part of the West of England Partnership.

One route will run to the East Fringe of Bristol from Emersons Green, serving the new Science Park and proposed park and ride site in Emersons Green East past Hambrook and on to Bristol City Centre.

The second route is in the North Fringe of Bristol. It will run from Aztec West, through Bradley Stoke, Stoke Gifford, Harry Stoke, Coldhardbour Lane and then along the M32 into Bristol city centre.

The consultation is now closed. However, for further information on the proposals including the route option plan and to view the consultation exhibition boards and consultation leaflet view

What happens next?

The results of the consultation will feed into the development of the scheme and, subject to agreement by Bristol City and South Gloucestershire cabinets during March, a bid will be submitted by April 2010.

If the DfT approves the scheme, construction could start in 2013 and would be expected to last four years. Further detailed design work will be required and, as the scheme progresses, there will be additional opportunities for everyone to give their views.

Hengrove Park Development Consultation
September 2007

The council has sought the views of the community during the design development process.  A detailed Consultation Statement was submitted with the Infrastructure Planning Application which sets out how and when the community were consulted, and includes the results and response to the consultation.

Below are images of the exhibition boards which formed part of the Public Exhibitions that were held around South Bristol in September 2007.
